Each year there are a few items that become a hot trend in technology. Going mobile is one trend that is sure to gain even more momentum in 2011. Many businesses have already created mobile versions of their full-site, but in 2011 it will become more common for small- and medium-sized businesses. Some businesses may opt for a mobile App in addition (or in place of) a mobile site. As these technologies become more affordable, the difference between the large business mobile presence and the small- and medium-sized business mobile presence will continue to shrink.

Looking Forward To Another Great Year

QR Codes

QR Codes are starting to pop up much more frequently now. The first few times I mentioned these in presentations, I didn’t receive a lot of feedback. However, I am now seeing lots of interest from organizations because they can now see the marketing potential for these quick response codes. Fun Project

Just completed a really fun project. I had the pleasure of creating a website for the Malik Tabet Tennis Academy. My daughter just happens to take lessons there, so it was really neat getting to work on their website. The Academy offers junior and adult tennis clinics as well as camps and private lessons. Each week I get to watch the coaches interact with the kids and they all do a great job. My daughter loves taking lessons there and that made this project a lot of fun. The website features image and quote rotators on the home page, contact us form, google calendar integration, and a news page that can easily be updated through our Content Management System. THVP Annual Meeting

I had the pleasure of presenting The Nuts and Bolts of Social Media today at the Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Professionals Annual Meeting. Great group of volunteer directors and we had some really good interaction during the presentation. Always love to hear how others are using social media and what has worked and what obstacles they have faced. It seems like the healthcare industry is beginning to embrace social and digital media which is exciting to see.

We just launched our latest website, www.patriotproductsllc.com. Patriot Products LLC is a new client of ours located in Florida. PatriotProducts.com is the home of the Liberty Medallion – An American Freedom Medal. For the website, we used a patriotic design and integrated PayPal Buy Now Buttons for the e-commerce on the site. Kids Depot Redesign

We just finished redesigning kidsdepot.org. When the staff at Progressive Directions Inc. approached us about redesigning the website for Kids Depot, they were looking for a bright and fun design and for a member of their staff to be able to update the website to keep it current. The new site is colorful, full of new content and features (like photo galleries, virtual tour and videos) and works with our Content Management System. The CMS allows us to set permissions so different members of the staff can update different areas of the site, while one staff member has admin rights to all the pages.
