eNewsletters: A Valuable Marketing Tool

One of the trends we’ve seen in 2009 is the importance placed on eNewsletters. Whether it is starting an eNewsletter or reinventing an existing newsletter, many businesses are turning to this low cost medium to increase sales and build loyalty among their customers. Some reports have questioned whether email was a dying medium, especially among younger demographics. Although email numbers are lower among the teen and college demographics, I feel these young people will start using email more once they enter the workforce. Despite all the communication tools available, most businesses still continue to rely on email more than any other medium. Email remains a dominant force in our communication lives and will remain that way for sometime. A recent report from MarketingSherpa showed that 78% of respondents in a recent survey indicated that they shared information about a product or service they find interesting via email. This just reinforces how important email can be for businesses.
